International review rates Infineon's Annual Report No. 1 in Germany - According to Enterprise.com consultants, chip manufacturer's 2000 report is No. 5 in the world and No. 2 in Europe

Munich, September 20, 2001 - According to a worldwide assessment by Enterprise.com, Munich-based Infineon Technologies AG produced Germany’s best annual report for the year 2000. Infineon was No. 2 on a European-wide scale and No. 5 in the world, only behind IBM (No. 1), Ford Motor, Electrolux und Alcoa.

Among the 200 annual reports scrutinized by a panel of independent judges, only the top five received an “A+” rating. This was, in the words of the panel, reserved for “world-class level, standing-out”. The criteria consisted of financial and investor information (weighted at 50%), descriptions of business operations (30%) and visual design (20%). To conduct its review, Belgium-based Enterprise.com (e.com) ordered a total of 800 annual reports from publicly listed companies in 35 different countries.

According to e.com, Infineon’s 2000 Annual Report, entitled “The First Year,” was not only the first German report to receive such a high ranking, but also one of the most convincing presentations by a newly listed company ever. The judges moreover classified the Infineon report - along with nine other companies - as belonging to the “Best” in the five individual categories of theme, business summary, financial and operational reports, and illustrations. Along with Infineon’s own authors, a big share of credit goes to the company’s London-based design agency “The Partners” as well as to the Berlin-based consultancy “AIOS”, which produced the report.
