Infineon's BlueMoon-Single-Chip to Achieve Bluetooth Qualification: Lowest cost and fastest time-to-market through "Fast Track Qualification"
BlueMoon Single is a pure CMOS Bluetooth single chip system solution including baseband controller, integrated ROM memory and RF transceiver providing an excellent performance of -85dBm sensitivity over the full temperature range with lowest bill of material and minimal board space requirements due to it's high level of integration.
The combination of lowest cost and highest performance together with sophisticated power management features makes this IC ideally suited for battery driven, handheld devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and digital cameras.

BlueMoon Single is offered at a price below 5 US$ in high volume quantities. Samples are available now, volume production is planned for summer 2002.
About BlueMoon Single
BlueMoon Single is the world's highest integrated semiconductor solution for the Blue-tooth short-range wireless technology. This solution combines baseband DSP, radio functionality, memory and software, all integrated into one single-chip and is aimed at applications requiring Bluetooth functionality in small form factor such as cellular phones and personal digital assistants.

The BlueMoon Single features integrated ROM-based memory and offers an external Flash-interface for rapid prototyping and pre-production. The Bluetooth V1.1 qualified Link Manager and HCI (Host Controller Inter-face) is supplied with the IC as firmware. The BlueMoon Single integrates a 920 kBaud UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) for data as well as a dedicated PCM interface for voice.
