Update: coronavirus (COVID-19)
Read how Infineon is affected by the situation and what we are doing to continue operations

Statement from Infineon’s CEO Reinhard Ploss

COVID-19: What is Infineon doing?

The top priority for us at Infineon Technologies is to protect the health and safety of our employees and business partners. At the same time, we are doing what is necessary to keep operations within our manufacturing facilities running as smoothly as possible and we are committed to continue serving our customers as a reliable partner.

Avoiding travel
In addition to comprehensive preventative measures, Infineon has applied extensive travel restrictions: In general, both national and international travel must be avoided; individual exceptions need to be approved by the respective top management.

Working from home
In addition, all employees outside production-critical areas and labs are required to work from home, wherever possible. By 19 March, some 20,000 employees have been working via remote access; more than 100,000 audio and video calls were conducted via Infineon's systems on that day. At the same time, Infineon’s production facilities are characterized by exceptional hygienic conditions providing a high degree of protection against pathogens.

Joint efforts
All measures are in line with the recommendations of the relevant authorities and institutes; they were decided upon at an early stage and in full accordance with employee representatives.
