Our family of angle sensors is based on integrated Magneto Resistive (ixMR) technologies.

The sensors detect the orientation of an applied magnetic field by measuring sine and cosine angle components with monolithically integrated magneto resistive elements.

ixMR technology is widely used in automotive and industrial applications, providing a wide range of benefits, i.e. high speed, not limited by the reaction time of the MR element but delays in the the amplifier circuit, high degree of integration, and much more.

IGMR sensors

Infineon´s iGMR sensors are ideal for applications with a wide angle range, such as BLDC motor or steering sensors. They are pre-calibrated and ready-to-use. Different levels of signal processing integration enable designers to optimize system partitioning.

Dual-sensor package for functionally safe systems-angle and linear Hall

Infineon´s latest SMD package (PG-TDSO) includes two redundant sensors in the place of one with separate power supply and separate signal outputs .
Due to special mounting technology, we can keep our dual-sensor package size very small to enable compact PCB layouts and small magnet sizes.The two sensors in one package offer inherent redundancy.

Sensor redundancy is of particular interest for new generation EPS steering systems with highest ASIL requirements and other safety critical applications.
