The 700V and 800V CoolMOS™ P7 power MOSFET product families have been developed for flyback based low power SMPS applications including adapter and charger, lighting, audio SMPS, AUX and industrial power. The latest 600V CoolMOS™ P7 power MOSFET family completes the portfolio by offering the third voltage class of the P7 platform, that in contrast to the 700V and 800V series targets not only low power but also high power SMPS applications such as solar inverters, server, telecom and EV charging stations and is fully optimized for hard as well as soft switching topologies. All three product series are designed to address typical challenges in the various applications by delivering best-in-class price/performance ratio with excellent ease-of-use, making them a perfect fit for target applications.

600V CoolMOS™ P7 power MOSFETs - optimized balance of ease-of-use and highest energy efficiency



The 600V CoolMOS™ P7 is the successor of the 600V CoolMOS™ P6 series targeting a broad range of applications ranging from low power SMPS up to highest power levels. The 600V CoolMOS™ P7 is Infineon’s most well balanced CoolMOS™ technology in terms of combining ease-of-use (e.g. low ringing) with excellent efficiency performance and reasonable price.


600V CoolMOS™ P7 achieves up to 1.5% better efficiency and 4.2°C lower MOSFET temperature versus competitor offerings. Its gate charge Q g and E oss are 30-60 percent lower compared to previous CoolMOS™ families and competition, which leads to reduced driving and switching losses that allow high efficiency in various power classes. Furthermore, the optimized R DS(on) enables smaller footprints and higher power density.

700V CoolMOS™ P7 power MOSFETs - Infineon's answer for flyback topologies



Developed to serve today’s and especially tomorrow’s trends in flyback topologies – by offering fundamental performance gains compared to superjunction technologies used today the new 700V CoolMOS™ P7 series addresses the low power SMPS market, such as mobile phone chargers, notebook adapters, tv, lighting, audio and AUX power.


The 700V CoolMOS™ P7 offers 2% to 5% lower switching losses (E OSS), up to 3.9% higher efficiency and impressively up to 16K lower device temperature against competition. Compared to the previous 650V CoolMOS™ C6 technology it offers 2.4% gain in efficiency and 12K lower device temperature, measured at a flyback based charger application, operated at 140kHz switching speed.

The 800V CoolMOS™ P7 is as well a perfect fit for low power SMPS applications by fully addressing market needs in performance, ease-of-use and price/performance ratio. It's main focus is on flyback applications including adapter and charger, LED lighting, audio SMPS, AUX and industrial power.


This product family offers 0.1% to 0.6% efficiency gain and 2°C to 8°C lower MOSFET temperature as compared to 800V CoolMOS™ C3 tested in flyback based applications. Such best-in-class performance comes from a combination of various optimized device parameters such as more than 50% reduction in E  oss and Q  g and reduced C  iss and C  oss.
