Job description

We are looking for a mature, experienced and proactive Design Support Engineer (DAE) able to provide support to Product Development teams located in Pavia, Italy and Aix-en-Provence, France. The teams consist of Designer and Layout Engineer developing Analog and Mixed Signal ICs on various technologies (Analog on Top designs in CMOS, HV-CMOS, Smart Power and BCD technologies). Located in Pavia, Italy, this position will report directly to the Development Center Head and functional DES Head.  

In your new role you will:         
  • Act as first interface for issues resolution in regards to PDKs, Design tools/licensing and the Design Environment and capability to escalate issues to proper PDK/EDA/ methodologies development teams.
  • Work with the Design Teams to understand user requirements and translate into comprehensive, valuable solutions ensuring integrity, completeness and quality.
  • Assist in implementing project setup, configuration changes, top level verification, tape-out process and verification of GDSII data.
  • Proactively identify and create customized utilities, scripts and automated procedures to link different aspect of the design process.
  • Work with other design centers and the DAE community to ensure standardization of the design environment and participate in cross-functional team.
  • Write user documentation while meeting Infineon’s document control quality standard.
  • Apply and supports formal Configuration & Release Management methods, project planning and software QA methods.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:
  • Master degree in Information and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 4+ years of experience in EDA support, analog circuit design and/or PDK development using Cadence.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of IC design flows (Analog and Mixed Signal) and Cadence and Mentor IC design tools.
  • Thorough familiarity with the Cadence/Mentor/Synopsys Design tools.
  • Strong layout and design verification debugging experience including but not limited to solving design problems with Analog and Mixed Signal simulators, DRC, LVS and RCX.
  • Customer support experience. 
  • Fluent English skills.
