The way people work, communicate, and interact with each other. Working at Infineon is like working in a family. The whole Villach team is really great.

My job has a lot of variety. Leading the Frontend Quality Management (FE QM) organization in Villach with around 170 people. Through our different functions, we support production, Facility Management (FM), technical departments, and technology development. Support activities include providing business processes, problem-solving methods, failure analysis, and all kinds of quality engineering tasks. My job involves cross-functional cooperation with other organizations, which gives me many insights into production and technical topics. At the same time, I also have strong interconnections with other frontend and backend sites.

Stable production and good quality frontend products delivered to backend or bare die customers. That is our main task. The result is satisfied customers, internal as well as external, as this is proof of the quality of our work.

Being part of the fast-growing site in Villach is a special highlight. We have all the future topics here on site and we are growing very fast. This is very exciting and challenging for us. New topics are around the corner nearly every day.

The most challenging part are my leadership tasks. To work with my team and develop the organization in such a way that we can keep up with all the upcoming tasks is fun but not always easy. Automation and digitalization call for new job profiles and this means change for the QM community, and change always means uncertainty for people.

First of all, I am curious about the future of my family. I am also curious about the exciting times ahead of me and my team with all the new developments and projects in Villach that are currently ongoing.

In my job, I drive quality control activities and improvements to achieve Next Level of Zero Defects (NLoZD).

Infineon has quite a systematic, all-round approach to nurturing young graduates.

As a cross-function Quality Engineer, I work with a lot of people from different departments. So I learn a lot through teamwork. Main tasks for me are to govern responsible process execution, drive quality control and improvement, and manage external customer complaints.

The products I am responsible for are usually made into bank cards, ID cards, etc.

More information can be found here.

The highlights of my job include the opportunity to work on both strategic and operational projects. Strategic projects like product transfers and new product introductions; and operational projects like solving problems that occurred in production lines and actively supporting change management.

It is challenging for QE to handle the different interests of different stakeholders – you have to be strong enough and keep quality in mind instead of being everybody’s YES person.

Trust and encouragement from my manager and full support from my colleagues.

Quality Management is a great opportunity to contribute my knowledge and learn new things as I experience the different phases of the product lifecycle.
