Premium functionality of a smart digital car access solution includes:

• Smart Access Controller: Acts as the master module to coordinate and communicate with other sub modules in the car access system. It calculates the location of a keyfob/smartphone based on the BLE signals collected from the anchors, does the authentication, and opens or closes the door based on the position of the keyfob/smartphone, and the authentication result.
• Anchors: work as the BLE slave module, and a BLE link is used to communicate with a keyfob/smartphone. A BLE signal is used to measure the distance between the keyfob/smartphone and the anchors.
• Door handle: is used to trigger the BLE communication, localization and authentication. A capacitive touch door handler can detect a hand before the handle is pulled, giving a faster trigger and fancier design.
• User (key) devices: keyfob and smartphone have BLE radios for communication and localization.
• Biometric entry: there’s a growing demand for such systems, e.g. facial recognition by a 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera in the B-Column or a fingerprint sensor on the door handle.
