USB-C power delivery with integrated VBUS load switch controller

EZ-PD™ CCG6 is Infineon's one port USB Type-C and power delivery controller targeting PCs and notebooks. CCG6 integrates a VBUS provider path load switch controller along with USB authentication support, VBUS-to-CC short protection, VBUS-to-SBU short protection, 20 V-VBUS regulator, high-voltage PFET gate drivers, SBU and USB HS mux, VBUS over-voltage and over-current protection, and ESD protection.

CCG6 supports Downstream Facing Port (DFP), Upstream Facing Port (UFP), and Dual Role Port (DRP) and will fully support the power delivery 3.0 specification. CCG6 is a programmable solution with 128 KB flash supporting fail-safe boot up and firmware upgrade.

Infineon has USB Type-C and power delivery reference designs readily available online for various applications, which can be used to shorten design cycle times.
