At the Linz site Infineon Technologies Austria operates its development center for high-frequency components.

2009, the development team presented the world's first 77 GHz radar chip to use silicon-germanium technology. At present, around 180 employees are working on the latest generation of radar-sensor chips. These systems make driving cars safer and more comfortable thanks to active action taken by the systems during driving, for example through pedestrian recognition, distance warning and automatic emergency braking.

The other key areas of activity include high-frequency components for mobile communication and navigation applications, like antenna switches and receive amplifiers. These devices are are used by all major smartphone manufacturers to achieve highest data rates and navigation accuracy even under unfavourable reception conditions.
