Creating a new home base
Due to the successful start of production, Siemens Bauelemente GmbH purchased a plot of land of 60,000 m² from the city of Villach on March 5, 1971 for ATS 1,200,000 (today's value adjusted for indexation: Euro 393,432.00) with an option right for a further 40,000 m2 until 1991.
The first construction work for the adaptation of the present company premises began in May and were completed in October 1971. The construction of the building was delayed due to the strong economic fluctuations and finally started in November 1972.
