Gearing up for joint growth

Jan 4, 1993 | Market News

Like the two previous decades, the 1990s were also characterized by constant change and continuous growth. In order to be prepared for upcoming challenges, the Villach I and II production lines had to grow together to form a joint production network. This was the only way to ensure efficient and flexible use of all available capacities.

The core elements of the consolidation were the changeover from 4" to 5" wafers in the Villach I line on the one hand and a link gate between halls 14 and 15 on the other hand. Both projects were already implemented in 1993.In the new Villach production network, the competence spectrum extended from bipolar, CMOS and N MOS technology all the way to power electronics (SIPMOS).
