A styrian star is born

Nov 27, 1998 | Market News

Like many of our colleagues today, Wolfgang Pribyl, Head of EZM from 1993 until 1998, was not originally from Villach, he originated from the neighboring federal state of Styria. So, when he heard of additional demand for R&D capacities for the Chipcard business unit of Siemens, the decision to found a new Development Center in Graz must have been a particularly joyful moment.

Since then his fellow Styrians have repaid his trust by going from strength to strength. A core team of 50 people started working on chipcard and high frequency components in 1998 in a small open-plan office in Hilmteichstraße. That same year, on November 27, 1998, the newly formed DC Graz team witnessed the opening of their new home at Metahof.
