A farewell to Tafernerstraße

Jan 2, 1975 | Market News

After a construction period of one and a quarter years, the new hall 13 with 6,900 m² at the Karawankenweg was occupied in January 1975. This gave the plant a total of almost 10,000 m² of gross floor area. The rented property in Tafernerstraße was terminated in January 1975 and the offices there and the production moved to the new location.

The new hall was ceremonially opened on October 21, 1975. Catering was not available at that time, but the employees themselves prepared the catering for the guests with "Villacher Jause".

Since October 1970, 202 million diodes, 16 million integrated circuits and 3 million other electronic components have been manufactured. From 1.10.1970-30.09.1975 ATS 277 million (today's value adjusted for indexation: 66,889,960) turnover was made. ATS 15 million (today's value adjusted for indexation: 3,622,200) (6,5%) were sold in Germany, more than 90% were exported.

At the end of the business year 1975 the company had 335 employees. Worthy of special mention is the first-time hiring of industrial apprentices in the year under review.
