Infineon Austria: "Chip bags" for the start of school for children of the Caritas Lerncafés

Villach, Graz, 21 September 2022 - The start of the school year is a great challenge for many families, and this is particularly noticeable this year. In order to be well prepared for the new school year, Infineon Austria has distributed "Infineon chip bags" - gym bags in chip design filled with learning materials - to around 130 children and young people at the Caritas Lerncafés in Villach, Spittal/Drau and Graz.

Oliver Heinrich, CFO of Infineon Austria, and Stefan Rohringer, Head of the Infineon Development Center Graz, personally distributed the "chip bags" to the pupils in Villach and Graz. "We have been supporting the Caritas Lerncafés for three years and are thrilled every year by the learning successes and, above all, the joy of the pupils. We wish them all a great start to school!", says Oliver Heinrich. "Infineon extended the cooperation to Styria last year. We are very happy about the cooperation, also because some of our employees will be involved as learning assistants at the Lerncafé Graz-Lend in the new school year," Stefan Rohringer joins in with best wishes for the start of school.

Learning for the future
The children do homework and prepare for exams and tests with the support of their learning assistants. Thus, within the walls of the Caritas learning cafés, the cornerstone for the future educational path is laid. Socially disadvantaged children in particular benefit from this free service. The focus is on equal educational opportunities for all, regardless of origin or social background. And with great success: around 99 percent of all students in Carinthia and Styria who attend the Lerncafés have completed the last school year with positive results.

78,000 euros for the Caritas Lerncafés
Since 2020, Infineon Austria has been committed to equal opportunities for disadvantaged children with the Infineon Education Fund. A total of 78,000 euros in 2022 will support around 130 children and young people in the Caritas Lerncafés in Villach, Spittal/Drau and Graz on their educational path.
