Linz: Infineon Austria acquires all shares in DICE

Villach/Linz, 30 September 2019 – Effective today, Infineon Technologies Austria AG acquires all shares in the associated company DICE (Danube Integrated Circuit Engineering) in Linz from Univ.-Prof. Dr. Richard Hagelauer. This makes Infineon Austria the 100-percent owner of DICE, which was founded by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Richard Hagelauer as a spin-off company of Johannes-Kepler University (JKU) Linz in 1999. Over the past twenty years, the site has become the global center of competence for high-frequency technologies within the Infineon Group with world-leading expertise in radar chips for driver assistance systems.

"The Development Center Linz plays a central, strategic role for Infineon: It is here that the key technologies for automated driving and mobile radio applications are developed." A new company building is now under construction in Donaufeldstrasse, scheduled for occupation in early summer 2020.

Tandem for DICE Management
There will also be a change in the current management: As of 1 October, the Development Center in Linz will be under the dual leadership of the two previous managing directors Manfred Ruhmer and Peter Zeiner. Gerhard Riess is retiring from the management team and will assume an international management position in the Infineon Group. His responsibilities will be taken over by Manfred Ruhmer who will continue to push the research activities in Linz and the innovation network combination of industry, research and educational institutions. The financial responsibility for the development site will remain with Peter Zeiner.
