PROFET™+ 24V | Automotive Smart High-Side Switch
Infineon's 24V smart high-side switches of the PROFET™+ 24V family are designed to be used for trucks, buses as well as construction & agriculture vehicles (CAV) in harsh environments. The modular family offers comprehensive protection functions, very fast current sense diagnosis, an extended operating voltage range (up to 48 V) and high short-circuit robustness. All types of loads from 0.5 A to 10 A nominal load current can be driven.
Application
The PROFETTM+ 24V is especially designed for CAV applications, such as BCM for trucks and busses, braking (ABS, ESP) and transmission valves, steering / safety systems, decentral ECU’s, ADAS loads, fuse and relay replacement as well as pneumatic/ hydraulic valves for excavators, fork lifters and agriculture machines. Because of extended operating voltage range (up to 48V), plenty of industrial applications are addressable too.

About PROFET™ + 24V for CAV power distribution
PROFET™+ 24V is specially designed for CAV applications, such as BCM for trucks and buses, braking (ABS and ESP), transmission valves, steering or safety systems, decentral ECUs, ADAS loads, fuse and relay replacement, pneumatic or hydraulic valves for excavators, fork lifters, and agriculture vehicles. The family offers an RDS(on) range from 10 to 200 mΩ. The modular family concept consists of single, dual, and four channel devices. Because of the modularity, different devices can be used on the same PCB footprint, which saves costs in case the load requirements change. Finally, the products are also pin and function-compatible with Infineon's 12 V high-side power switch family (PROFET™+ 12V).
About PROFET™ + 24V family for CAV power distribution
All products are designed to withstand 24 V load dump conditions (58 V for 400 ms). A steeply switching slew rate reduces power losses and saves energy. Comprehensive protection functions (also for long cables), fast current sense diagnostic with very tight kILIS accuracy, and an extended operating voltage range ensure the highest operational reliability. Two products with lower current limitations ("ERB" variants) allow to switch loads via long cables (e.g., for trailers). All kinds of loads (valves, pumps, motors, sensors, bulbs, LED, etc.) up to 10 A nominal load current can be switched. Within the family also, Infineon's first PRO-SIL™ ISO 26262-compliant high-side power switch is offered. Most of the products have the TDSO-14 package.
ISO 26262 - Dependable electronics based on Functional Safety (FuSa)
With Infineon’s PROFET™+ 24V, designers are well prepared for todays and upcoming challenges of the automotive electronic or electrical (E/E) architectures which demand components that meet the requirements for PRO-SIL™ ISO 26262-compliant and PRO-SIL™ ISO 26262-ready classifications used in fail-safe systems and available also for fail-operational power distribution systems. The BTF6070-2ERV is Infineon’s first PRO-SIL™ ISO 26262-compliant high-side power switch.
