Recent Transactions:
During the last two fiscal years, we completed the following business acquisitions and dispositions in North America:
- In October 2007 we acquired the mobility products business of LSI Corporation to further strengthen our activities in the field of communications. The acquired business develops semiconductors and software for mobile phone platform solutions.
- In April 2008 we acquired Primarion, Inc., Torrance, California (“Primarion”) in order to further strengthen our activities in the field of power management applications. Primarion is among the 3 leaders in designing, manufacturing and marketing digital power ICs for computing, graphics and communication applications.
- On July 7, 2009 we entered into an agreement to sell our Wireline Communications business to Lantiq, affiliates of Golden Gate Private Equity Inc. The transaction closed on November 6, 2009.
U.S. Cooperations:
- IBM, Samsung and Chartered – Joint research and development alliance on foundry-oriented CMOS technologies for 65 nm and 45 nm

We are organized in four operating segments: Automotive, Industrial & Multimarket, Chip Card & Security, Wireless Solutions:
- The Automotive segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets semiconductors for use in automotive applications. Together with its product portfolio, Infineon offers corresponding system know-how and support to its customers.
- The Industrial & Multimarket segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets semiconductors and complete system solutions primarily for use in industrial applications and in applications with customer-specific product requirements.
- The Chip Card & Security segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets semiconductors and complete system solutions primarily for use in chip card and security applications.
- The Wireless Solutions segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets a wide range of ICs, other semiconductors and complete system solutions for wireless communication applications.
