Automotive Low Dropout Linear Voltage Regulator TLS850D0TA V50
Application Circuit

Thermal model description:
THERMAL_MODEL = 1: JEDEC 1s0p 600mm2 cooling area
THERMAL_MODEL = 2: JEDEC 1s0p 300mm2 cooling area
THERMAL_MODEL = 3: JEDEC 1s0p, footprint
THERMAL_MODEL = 4: JEDEC 2s2p
THERMAL_MODEL = 10: No self-heating, only TEMP value used as a temperature

The TLS850D0TAV50 is a high performance very low dropout linear voltage regulator
for 5 V supply in a PG-TO263-7 package. With an input voltage range of 3 V to 40 V
and very low quiescent of only 40 μA, these regulators are perfectly suitable for
automotive or any other supply systems connected to the battery permanently.
The TLS850D0TAV50 provides an output voltage accuracy of 2 % and a maximum
output current up to 500 mA. The new loop concept combines fast regulation and
very good stability while requiring only one small ceramic capacitor of 1 μF at the output.
At currents below 100 mA the device will have a very low typical dropout voltage of
only 70 mV.

Model performance :
- dynamic behavior not modeled (CQ/ESR stability, line/load transient response,
start-up, PSRR)
- static behavior is modelled by approximation to the real behavior of the device
over temperature
- the thermal simulations represent an approximation of the actual thermal
behavior of the device according to the JEDEC standards at power = 0.85 Watt
and Ambient Temperature = 85 °C
