CIC-310 – FlexRay™ Communication Controller Companion IC for Automotive Embedded Control

The CIC-310-OSMX2HT is targeted at safety-critical automotive applications requiring high communication bandwidth, such as powertrain management, chassis
management and networking systems. Extensive interface support ensures complete design flexibility.
Support for a MicroLink Interface (MLI) enables the microcontroller to be seamlessly expanded, creating an integrated look and feel on the software side. A de-multiplexed 8 / 16-bit parallel interface (XMU) is provided for microcontrollers that do not yet support MLI. And a High-Speed Synchronous Serial Channel (SSC)
interface (via SPI or UART) is available for microcontrollers with a low pin count and moderate FlexRay
TM bandwidth requirements.
With a gross data rate of 10 Mbits / s, FlexRay
TM provides a 20 times higher bandwidth than the CAN protocol automotive control applications.
