The first members of the ISOFACE™ product family are fully protected multi-channel high-side power switches providing galvanic isolation for digital output interfaces.
ISO1H801G / ISO1H802G is an isolated 8-channel high-side driver intended for driving any kind of resistive, inductive or capacitive load - addressing the exact requirements in industrial automation systems, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems and Industrial PCs. With complete system integration of the digital interface, coreless transformer and power stage, the IC can be directly connected between the microcontroller and independent power loads.
ISOFACE™ eliminates the need for external drivers and optocouplers, therefore increasing system stability and reliability, faster data transmission, higher operating temperatures and reducing PCB space. Also, fully protected high-side switches with diagnostic output for over temperature makes the ISOFACE™ an extremely rugged device.
Coreless Transformer Technology (CLT) allows the integration of a pulse transformer into an IC, combining the advantages of HVIC technology with the capability of a magnetic coupler. This results in an extremely rugged IC with high insulation capability. CLT allows faster switching speeds with no performance degradation compared to optocouplers, therefore providing constant reliability over the projected lifetime.
