IFX supplies drives and motor controls for industrial facilities like industrial pumps, bucket wheels, excavators, printing machines etc. Another industrial utilization of our products is the transportation sector where we contribute semiconductors for trains, subways, trams and trolley buses. Power supplies in elevators, escalators and baggage belts and last not least industrial lighting are also our domains.
Lighting
IFX provides semiconductors for the industrial lighting sector where applications have also a high energy saving potential. After all industrial lighting amounts to 15 percent of the world's electricity consumption. The electronic control of lighting and switching reduces energy consumption. An energy efficiency step of worldwide 15 percent in lighting would mean a reduction of electrical power consumption of worldwide 2 percent per year.
Private sector
You can find Infineon-chips also in most household appliances like kitchen equipment or entertainment electronics, building control or heating pumps.
Infineon also provides power supplies for servers, notebooks, PCs.
