Answer: There is a dedicated web page to submit a problem report or technical questions on DAVE Bench
Question: Can DAVE Bench v 2.0.1 run on Windows 2000?
Answer: It cannot be installed on a PC with Windows2000. But following workaround can be applied: Install DAVE Bench on a XP, Vista or W7 PC. Copy the all files and folders that are located under the installation path …\DAVE-Bench-201 to any folder on the W2000 PC. DAVE Bench can be started by starting eclipse.exe in the eclipse folder.
Question: Is it possible to use the workspace of an older version of DAVE Bench with a newer version of DAVE Bench?
Answer: When a new workspace is created, the properties of this workspace that contain environment variables are derived from the DAVE Bench version that creates the workspace. New projects that are created derive their path variables form the workspace properties. Consequently the environment variables of all projects that belong to the workspace will be assigned as per the default the installation path of the DAVE Bench version that has created this workspace. For that reason the environment of each existing project variable has to be adjusted to the path of the new DAVE Bench version this can be done via: >Project >Project Properties >Environment. The SDCC_HOME and the SDCC_UTIL variable have to be changed to the path of the new DAVE Bench version. In order to avoid wrong path variables when creating new projects the workspaces preference properties for these two variables have to be changed similarly via: >Window >C/C++ >Preferences >Environment. Also the path variable for external tools have to be changed under >Window >Preferences >Dave.
An easier way to use projects from an older DAVE Bench version is to create a new workspace and use the >File >Import functionality to import all or only one Projects. For this purposes there are two different import options that are described in detail the DAVE Bench help content: >Help >Help Content >DAVE Bench >General Import vs. XC800 Import.
