CAN and LIN Transceivers
Because of the ever-increasing demand for information exchange in modern vehicles, the automotive industry implemented data communication networks using the CAN (Controller Area Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network) protocol-based bus systems. Transceivers are the link between the protocol unit (the controller) and the physical transmission medium (bus cable). In addition to their driving function (reception/transmission of signals from the bus to ECU) the transceivers also provide a wide range of protective and fault-diagnosis functions. Infineon offers an extensive product range of transceivers and integrated system-basis chip solutions for CAN high-speed, CAN low-speed and LIN protocols, featuring the best ESD and EMC combined performances of the market.
Transceiver ICs for Wireless Control
The Wireless Control Transceiver series from Infineon is made up by a group of very low power consumption single chip ASK/FSK Transceivers for half duplex low data rate communication in the sub 1 GHz frequency bands. The ICs offer a very high level of integration and need only a few external components.
Main Applications
- Remote Control Systems
- Security- and Alarm Systems
- Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)
- Home Automation Systems
- Low Bit Rate Communication Systems
- Telemetry Systems
- Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
Main Features
The devices contain a highly efficient power amplifier, a low noise amplifier (LNA) with AGC, a double balanced mixer, a complex direct conversion stage, I/Q limiters with RSSI generation, a fully integrated VCO and PLL synthesizer and a tunable crystal oscillator. All devices are designed to have best receiver sensitivity and up to +13dBm output power at lowest current consumption offering a dedicated power down feature to save battery life. The fully programmalbe register set allows many features like high and low power Tx modes, data filter, programmable I/Q, and baseband filters... all operating over a wide voltage and temperature range.
