Since 2015, Infineon has been offering specific shields for Arduino, the open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software.

Built in line with the standardized Arduino Uno Formfactor, Infineon Shields for Arduino empower developers to conduct fast and inexpensive evaluation and prototyping of their designs.

Infineon Shields for Arduino handle a number of tasks in a scalable system, including shields for lighting and motor control as well as universal development kits that interface with the rest of Infineon’s microcontroller boards and tools.

Infineon Shields for Arduino unlock a fast track from concept to design across a wide range of applications. The tried-and-tested portfolio includes shields for motor control, LED lighting evaluation and protected switch shields that drive resistive, capacitive and inductive loads.

Next to full Arduino IDE integration, our Shields for Arduino interface seamlessly with most standard boards and components via plug-and-play connectivity.

The RGB LED Lighting Shield with XMC1202 is designed to be easily configurable and combinable for different LED light engines and lamps, for fast prototyping and in-expensive evaluation of LED lighting applications.

The new DC Motor Shield with TLE94112EL for Arduino is powered by 12-fold multi half-bridge TLE94112EL and capable of driving six motors in parallel or eleven motors in cascade mode. And the 12V Protected Switch Shield with BTS50015-1TAD uses Power PROFET™ to drive resistive, capacitive and inductive loads in high current applications and applications with high switching cycles and high energy requirements.

The motor control shield with BTN7030-1EPA is designed to drive DC motors in combination with an Arduino compatible baseboard.

The shield can be controlled with the general logic IO-Ports of a microcontroller. Either an Arduino Uno R3 or the XMC1100 Boot Kit from Infineon can be used as the master. Another way to control this board is via uIO port using Infineon uIO Stick. Learn more

The DC motor shield is a small evaluation board equipped with TLE94112EL for use with Arduino. The TLE94112EL is capable to drive up to 6 small DC motors in parallel mode or up to 11 DC motors in cascaded mode. All outputs can drive up to 0.9A. The outputs can be used stand-alone or combined to increase driving capability up to 3.6A. Learn more

Stepper Motor Control Shield with IFX9201

The stepper motor control shield based on Infineon’s h-bridge IFX9201 and XMC1300 microcontroller is capable of driving the two coils in a stepper motor featuring dual-h-bridge configuration. The implemented integrated IFX9201 h-bridges can be controlled by a STEP-signal via the STEP Pin. Interfacing to a microcontroller is made easy by the integrated XMC1300 microcontroller that holds the peripherals to allow high-speed current control. Micro-stepping of the stepper motor can be achieved using the internal comparators. Operational amplifiers are installed to adapt the motor current sense signal to the microcontroller’s input levels. The 24V Protected Switch Shield with BTT6030-2EKA and BTT6020-1EKA
is equipped with three PROtected high-side power MOSFETs out of the PROFET™+ 24V family – Infineon’s protected high-side switches (BTT6xxx) driving resistive,capacitive as well as inductive loads (e.g. truck bulbs, car bulbs, valves, motors, relays, capacitors, LEDs).

The 24V Protected Switch Shield provides a fast and easy access to drive up to five 24V loads with a nominal current of 4 A to 5 A each. Learn more

The Low-Side Switch Shield from Infineon consists out of three BTF3050TE low-side switches of the HITFET™+ family providing three independent power channels that can be controlled via the input pins. The BTF3050TE is a 50 mΩ high integrated single channel low-side switch and able to drive resistive, inductive and capacitive loads with a nominal load current of 3 A. Learn more

The BTS50025-1TEA shield for Arduino comes with four samples of BTS50025-1TEA, to drive four different loads.
BTS50025-1TEA is the lowest ohmic smart high-side power switch in DPAK available in the market; its typical RDS(ON) is 2.5mΩ and it can drive a nominal DC current of up to 24A.
Designed for relay and fuse replacement in power distribution and junction boxes, BTS50025-1TEA can drive resistive, capacitive and inductive loads.
BTS50025-1TEA high current applications (e.g. ECU power feeds, auxiliary power outlets, PTC heaters, rear windows heaters) and applications with high switching cycles and high energy requirements (e.g. starter relay in "start-stop" systems, electric brake vacuum pumps). Learn more

The (BL)DC motor control shield from Infineon technologies is a high current motor control board compatible with Arduino and Infineon’s XMC4700 Boot Kit. It is equipped with three smart IFX007T half-bridges. The BLDC motor control shield is capable to drive one BLDC motor. Alternatively, it can be used to drive one or two bi-directional DC motors (H-Bridge configuration, cascaded to support second motor) or up to three uni-directional BLDC motors (half-bridge configuration).
