In the industrial segment, Infineon Microcontrollers focus on electrical drives in various applications ranging from all kinds of motors, fans, eBikes to inverters and automation control. As these markets are quite fragmented Infineon MCU are supporting the mass market via distribution, tools like application kits and auto-code generator which helps customers to get started fast and easy.
The XMC4000 family of microcontrollers is tailored to power industrial applications with a need for advanced real-time control. Its’ unique combination of Infineon’s leading-edge timers, PWM and analog front-end peripherals with the processing capabilities of the ARM® Cortex™-M4 make it a power pack for industrial control products seeking to maximize energy efficiency.
TriCore™ has been established as the leading architecture in automotive applications. Clock rates go as high as 300 MHz using TriCore™ CPU which provides high-end microcontroller performance combined with sophisticated DSP capabilities and dedicated safety features. The new TriCore™ version 1.6 offers a significantly increased Floating Point Unit performance and an Integer Division Unit in Hardware.
The XC2000 family, with the C166SV2 core, is a real broad liner. Today integrated in safety systems such as steering and airbags, but as well used in engine management and transmission, e-motor and sensor controls in HVAC and other automotive body applications. And the C166SV2 core is very well introduced with the XC164 family to the industrial market.
The well known XC800 8bit family feature simplicity and ease of use, the XC2000 and XE164 16bit MicroContollers provide more advanced features at outstanding performance, and the TriCore™ 32bit are the controller of choice for the most innovative and demanding applications in the automotive and industrial markets.
Infineon’s Microcontrollers are based on the 8051, C166/C166SV2 and the TriCore™ cores. Providing real-time-behavior and high level performance combined with advanced energy efficiency. The portfolio covers all needs, from 24MHz, 2k Flash in a TSSOP-16 to 300MHz, 4MB Flash in a BGA-416. With PRO-SIL™ Infineon added comprehensive safety features to meet the increased demand safety cases up to ASIL-D.
