LED Color Control
The visible color spectrum of light can be generated by mixing red, green and blue constituents with different intensities. With LED light sources the intensity can easiliy be controlled by switching duty cycle of the LED since the lifetime of an LED does not suffer from a high number of switching cycles. A combination of red, green and blue LEDs (RGB LEDs), switches and flexible duty cycle control signals provided by a microcontroller already makes a solution to control light color.
Infineon offers with it's XC82x and XC83x series of Microcontrollers ideal devices for LED color control:
- multi channel flexible & high frequency PWM for excellent switching
- low-pin-count packages and Flash sizes from 2KB to 8KB
- high temperature robustness, specified for operation upto 105°C
