On the way to Zero-Defect Products

It will take a while for us to achieve our goal of eliminating defects to zero ppm.
– but achieve it we will. During our earlier process, we had a failure rate expressed as a certain number of defective parts per million.
Failure reduction was a continuous process.
But it would not have achieved the break necessary to get down to zero-defect products.

With the current process, failures are isolated incidents expressed as defects over time.
We have already reduced our failure rate p.a. by 30%.
Weeks go by without a single defect.
Now our challenge is to turn these weeks into months and finally into years. As the time span between failures continuously increases, we will get ever closer to achieving our goal of zero-defects.
