EU Regulation 1875/2006 – Import Control System
Dear Business Partner,
we would like to inform you about the pre-arrival filing for all goods bound for or transiting the EU which become a legal obligation as of January 1st, 2011.
ICS (Import Control System) is the electronic security declaration system for the importation of goods into the European Union. The carriers are responsible to transmit the Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) to the first EU Customs entry point.
To ensure that the ENS is filed in time, carriers will require complete shipment data prior to loading.
Therefore it is essential that you send the following data elements to your forwarders as early as possible and preferably indicate the information on your shipping documents:
- Number of packages
- Cargo gross weight
- Goods description (general terms, i.e. “spare parts”, “equipment” or “parts” will not be accepted)
- At least first 4 digits of the HS code
- Full name and address of shipper and consignee
- Destination
- Method of payment
- UN dangerous goods code (if applicable)
- Container number (if applicable)
- Seal number (if applicable)
To avoid lead time prolongation or any line stop on our or our customer’s side we strongly request to adjust your processes in advance so that the required information will be available.
Sincerely yours,
Infineon Technologies AG
