Technical apprenticeships

As a qualified electronics engineer for industrial engineering (f/m), you make sure the lights stay on. Without energy, modern production is nothing. The practical side of this job includes filing, sawing, and drilling to manufacture mechanical components and to create connections. Naturally, you’ll also learn your way around a circuit diagram, how to assemble and wire electronic devices, and how to inspect them, measure them, and set them up. Your know-how will be sought after wherever modern industrial engineering and installation engineering are in use.

Before you can begin this apprenticeship, you must complete a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) (mittlere Reife). Do you trust yourself to stay on top of things, even when faced with complicated tasks? Can you work with focus and care? Then welcome!

In the production mechanics apprenticeship (f/m), you will learn everything needed to keep the manufacture and assembly of industrial series products running smoothly. You will gain valuable knowledge about the assembly of components and devices, as well as the inspection, functional setup, error correction, and product-related repairs of both components and complete products. Supervision of completed work and potential post-treatment are also part of the job, as are the identification of tasks based on assembly and maintenance plans, design drawings, and procedural instructions.

What you bring to the table: lower secondary school or a General Certificate of Secondary Education (Hauptschulabschluss oder mittlere Reife), field-tested English language skills, and an enjoyment of working in a team. The ability to work autonomously is also a top priority.

During the mechatronics apprenticeship (f/m), you will learn everything necessary to keep production running flawlessly: from metal working to electronic engineering, all the way to programming. Along with the planning, assembly, and installation of new systems, your duties also include the startup operations and maintenance of electronic and mechanical systems. You will develop solutions that are right to the point and navigate projects from start to finish.

Requirements for this apprenticeship are a General Certificate of Secondary Education (mittlere Reife), good math and physics skills, as well as field-tested English skills. If you possess a distinctive technical understanding and mechanical abilities, there is nothing standing in your way from becoming a mechatronics technician (f/m) at Infineon.

In this apprenticeship, you will be entrusted with the construction of innovative semiconductor products and microsystems, either as prototypes or in a series. Your production tasks include the planning and organization of process sequences and test series as well as the documentation and evaluation of results. You will not only install facilities and equipment, but also oversee, test, and inspect these manufacturing processes. Quality control and logistics management are also among your shared responsibilities.

We therefore expect from you: a technical knack and an interest in high-tech, a General Certificate of Secondary Education (mittlere Reife), a general matriculation standard or entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, as well as good English language skills.

At the technical academy in St. Andrä in the Lavanttal, as well as at the plant in Villach, you can learn everything needed to keep our innovation factory running. As a mechatronic and electronic technician (f/m), you will be well versed in mechanics, electronics and informatics. You will build, program, inspect, and maintain mechanical and electromechanical system components.

Requirements are successful school completion, a good mathematical-physical understanding, and a strong interest in complex tasks. You are at home in English; you love challenges, stand out through your personal responsibility, and enjoy working in a team. Alongside your apprenticeship, you can also achieve a university entrance qualification.

Commercial apprenticeships

In the warehouse clerk apprenticeship (f/m), you will get to know all logistics processes: from receiving incoming goods and incoming control, to proper goods storage. With a pallet truck and a forklift, you will maneuver delivered goods through the narrow aisles to their designated storage locations as smoothly as if you’d done it all your life, in order to subsequently prepare our customers’ orders for shipping. You will also learn the fundamentals of information processing so that the use of standard PC programs becomes second nature.

Once you’re completed a General Certificate of Secondary Education (Hauptschulabschluss oder mittlere Reife) you are qualified with your start at Infineon. English is not a foreign language to you, and you are ready to take on responsibility as a team player.

Alongside the traditional apprenticeship in industrial management assistance, this double qualification also includes an IHK Associate’s degree as a certified foreign language correspondence clerk (f/m) in English. With this double qualification, we prepare you for the ever-increasing internationalization and globalization. The need for well-educated industrial management assistants with additional, well-established foreign language skills is constantly growing.

What you bring to the table: a General Certificate of Secondary Education (mittlere Reife), entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences (economic focus), excellent German and English language skills. Additionally: an enjoyment of business-related tasks and autonomous work, as well as communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

During the patent law apprenticeship (f/m), you will gain all the key knowledge needed for this diverse career – both in theory and in practice! Above all, this includes direct contact with inventors and engineers in our development departments at various locations. Additionally, you will get to find out about new products long before they appear on the market. You will work with Infineon’s patent attorneys, external law firms and diverse patent offices both domestically and abroad. You will be well suited to the formal challenges of German and international patent law, registered design law, and trademark law, and will see to it that deadlines for the protection of inventions are met.

In addition to a General Certificate of Secondary Education (mittlere Reife), a general matriculation standard or entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, we expect a strong interest in economics and law as well as excellent German and English language skills.
