Personnel Announcement: The Former Head of the Asia Pacific Region, Tony Ng, becomes Member of the Infineon Communication Business Group Board, Head of China Business Assumes Responsibilities for the Asia Pacific Region

Munich, Germany – September 30, 2005 – Effective as of October 1, 2005 Tony Ng (54) will assume responsibility for the operational business of the Communication business group at Infineon Technologies AG (FSE/NYSE: IFX). He will become the new Board Member, Group Vice President & General Manager of the business group for integrated semiconductors for wireline and wireless communication. Mr Tony Ng´s previous post was as President & Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region, located in Singapore. Ng reports directly to Prof. Dr. Hermann Eul, who is in charge of the communications business group and has been appointed Member of the Board of Infineon in July.
 
The responsibility for the Asia Pacific region will be transferred to Mr Pow Tien Tee (61), so far in charge of the China business of the company. As President & Managing Director, Pow will now also head the Asia Pacific region and report directly to Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart, President and Chief Executive of Infineon.
 
Since February 2005 Tony Ng was in charge of the Asian markets of Infineon. He brings to Infineon over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, ranging from engineering, manufacturing, sales and quality operations. During his term as the Head of Sales of Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific (1998 - 2002), he was instrumental in laying a firm foundation for Infineon’s successful expansion into key Asian markets. Ng graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Honours) from the University of Malaya in 1976. Infineon has more than 11,000 employees in Asia Pacific.
 
Pow Tien Tee has a degree in Business Administration, in Political Science and History. He joined Siemens Components in 1973, where he rose to the position of Director of Materials for Asia Pacific in 1992, managing the company’s supply chain in logistics and purchasing. In 1998, Pow led the China Task Force in strategizing and mapping out the company’s foray into the China market. Under Pow’s leadership, Infineon Shanghai was inaugurated as the headquarters for Infineon Technologies (China) Company Limited, which now employs over 1,800 employees in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Wuxi and Xi’An.
