Infineon Files Registration Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission

Munich, Germany – June 5, 2001 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE/NYSE: IFX) has on Monday filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission to enable a public offering of shares by Infineon. The company has appointed Goldman, Sachs & Co. oHG as global coordinator.

A registration statement has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. Securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time a registration statement becomes effective.
