Our commitment and hard work in environmental protection, safety and health have been confirmed by independent experts. A number of external awards for our achievements prove that we are moving in the right direction. Our employees also receive recognition for their ideas and dedication. The internal Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Award is given annually by a jury of internal and external members. The number of projects submitted and the high-quality results demonstrate that our employees continually try to improve environmental protection, occupational safety, and health conditions at our company.

Our exemplary engagement has been honored with awards. Here are just a few:

• “Trigos of Carinthia” (companies receive this award for taking responsibility) in the category workplace: Awarded to Infineon Austria site for the project “fit and active”
• Certificate of Acknowledgment of the City Regensburg in 2006 for the special achievements in environmental protection and nature conservation
• Occupational Health Best Practices Award 2005 – Excellence Award”: Awarded to Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, Singapore, site for outstanding achievements in noise control at the workplace
• “Business for the Bay 2004 Annual Excellence Awards": Awarded to former Infineon Technologies Richmond, USA, site for reducing the usage and emissions of toxic pollutants.
• In special recognition of Infineon Technologies Regensburg’s constant endeavors to improve environmental protection, the site was presented with the Bavarian Environmental Medal in November 2003
• “National OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) Excellence Award” for the production site in Malacca (2002)
• “German Trade and Industry Innovation Award for Best Technological Innovation” in 2001 in the category “Large Corporations” for two power semiconductor families that reduce the power consumption of household appliances by 30 percent
• “Environmental Prize of the City of Regensburg” for the communication of environmental relevant data and facts (2000)
• “Environmental Prize of the Austrian county of Carinthia” (1997) for the special achievements in the fields of air purification, water treatment and waste management
• “Environmental Award of the State of Malaysia” for progressive waste management (1996)
• “Environmental Prize of the City of Regensburg” for a new concept in waste-water treatment (1994)
• “Prix Santé et Enterprise Allemagne” for Dr. Roos and his application of occupational medicine in Regensburg (1992)

Since 2002, Infineon Technologies has also issued an internal Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) Award. This award is given to recognize the outstanding efforts, achievements, and ideas of our employees to constantly improve our environmental protection, occupational safety and health care measures, and to encourage others to follow these examples. Every year, three main winners are selected out of the applications. Extensive team performance among the entries is just as welcome as individual initiative from employees. Employees’ commitments prove that everyone can contribute to the success of ESH issues, no matter what job they do or where they are in the world.
